Tesla officially showed the Model Y at an event in Hawthorne. The show did not bring any major surprises, but it certainly met the expectations of many. The Y will offer 300 miles of range. This compact SUV is based on the Model 3 platform, which will surprisingly offer up to 7 seats. There is not much of a surprise about the Model Y design because it is supposed to be a combination of a crossover / compact SUV sedan. The design of the Model Y is very similar to the design of the 3 model.
What distinguishes "Y" from 3? Certainly it sits a little higher than in Model 3. The pictures show that it is almost the height of Model X.
The company has published all the specifications of the Y model.
These are the main ones:
- up to 300 mile range
- 3.5 seconds 0-60 mph
- top speed of 150 mph
- seating for up to 7 adults
The initial price is ultimately USD 39,000 for the Standard Range package.
