Although Porsche Taycan will not be presented until September, and the final product is not yet known, over 20,000 potential buyers have already been found.
The orders are not taken yet; however, for 2,500 euros you can show your initial interest in buying the car, and around 20,000 customers around the world have already done so. This is a much higher figure than Porsche had expected.
Porsche initially planned to produce 20,000 vehicles in the first year. The huge demand for an electric sports car, however, forced the company to change its plans, and in January Porsche announced that it intends to double production to 40,000 units. The vehicles will be built at the same Zuffenhausen plant, which also produces 911.
Porsche will offer Taycan with two battery sizes; the basic version with a smaller battery will enter the market with a price of around 100,000 euros.
