An increasing number of police units and other uniformed services across Europe are introducing Hyundai electric vehicles into their fleets. To reduce air pollution in the city, the police choose zero-emission vehicles - electric (BEV) or hydrogen powered (FCEV). Long range, fuel economy, and in the case of fuel cell vehicles also short refueling times also contribute to the popularity of this type of vehicle among law enforcement agencies.
Kona Electric, Hyundai's best-selling electric SUV is a popular choice amongst police in countries such as Switzerland, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom and Poland.
In 2019, the city of Krakow started using 47 KONA Electric vehicles. These cars went to various municipal institutions, including the City Guard.
