Solaris presented its newest electric bus Urbino 9 LE

On September 30, 2021, the Solaris family of electrically-powered Urbino 4th-generation models has grown with the addition of a new midibus – Urbino 9 LE electric. This low-entry battery bus was unveiled during an online launch.

Despite its compact dimensions, the vehicle has room for a significant number of seats, most of which are forward-facing. Passengers are offered as many as 27 seats in the spacious and air-conditioned interior.

With the modern design, the rear of the bus has more space above the heads of passengers, which has a positive effect on the quality of travel. At the same time, the compact dimensions of the bus allow it to perform outstandingly in cramped city spaces, as well as steep uphill and hard-to-reach mountain areas.

The batteries can be recharged using a plug-in connection and through one of three types of pantograph – a conventional one, an inverted pantograph, as well as a completely new type of pantograph, reaching higher than competing solutions.

In order to optimize the energy consumption, the Urbino 9 LE electric can be fitted with hybrid heating based on heat pumps. Solaris also offers a possibility to install any type of air conditioning system, out of all those available in the Solaris’ offer.
